Children are so precious to God. What a blessing to have children and what an awesome responsibility.
I’m still learning of God’s Sovereignty…and just what that means. I am sad for the way I raised my son in Catholicism. I’m sad for my sister’s children (in the photo above) who are being raised in Catholicism. And my brother’s son who has never even heard of God or what it means to pray. But I have to believe that through my prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, my request (for true repentance and salvation for all my family) is made known to God; and the peace of God, will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. (paraphrased from Philippians 4:6-7).
I cannot change their minds but I can continue to pray for them to come to the truth of the Gospel: Christ died for sinners. If you believe in His finished work on the cross you can be saved.
Romans 10:9-10 English Standard Version (ESV)
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
Cry out to Him now…ask Him to open your eyes to the truth of His salvation.
Jackie, this post went straight to my heart. We know how much God loves children because of how much we love the children in our lives. He put the love we have for them in our hearts. I am also praying for my family. Let us never give up praying. Never. God hears our prayers and is moving even when we cannot see. And we know we are praying according to His will when we pray for others to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. You are right, we cannot change them, but we can pray and prayer is a powerful force. God bless you, dear sister! Let’s keep praying!
